About FORD GREY
Hi! Welcome to FORD GREY.
I'm Catrina Gregory, the human behind the brand. I'm a travel-obsessed design junky born in Oregon, but a world citizen who's lived all over the globe. I have a passion for supporting mission-driven makers and artists in the home accessories and gifts space, and for bringing their work to socially conscious design lovers who are looking for fewer possessions and more meaning.
It’s such an unprecedented time on the planet. My vision for our NW Portland shop is to provide a peaceful sanctuary, to foster a feeling of belonging, meaning and beauty. And while I know this is just a website, I hope you’ll get a little taste of that here.
I’m always on the hunt for unusual and gorgeous goods made honestly -- thoughtful, design-forward accessories and gifts from all over the world - and our own backyard. I’m inspired by the concepts of hygge and wabi sabi wrapped in the colors and textures of the Pacific Northwest. Oh, and I have a particular affinity for women-owned businesses. (A majority of the lines we carry are owned by and made by women.)
I care deeply about the hands that touch FORD GREY goods; I focus on brands that treat the people and any animals involved fairly and kindly and use the planet’s resources lightly and gently.
The best part about owning FORD GREY is supporting emerging artists, designers, craftspeople, and other curators who share our values and are authentically mindful about how their products are made and the materials and ingredients that go into them.
Basically, I’m over fast fashion for the home and think you may be too. Do we really need any more poorly made junk that looks pretty? No, no, we don't. I'd rather own beautifully designed goods that will last a lifetime and beyond, goods that have a story, made or sourced by people who have a mission and care about the planet and all the living creatures on it.
I hope you’ll browse the site and find something meaningful that will bring joy to you or a loved one. If you’re in the Portland, Oregon area, we offer curbside contact-less pickup, and also safe in-person shopping with all the safety protocols. Stop by and see us (with your mask, pretty please) and we'll tell you the stories behind the beautifully made things that will bring a little extra beauty and meaning to your home.
